Jason Robbins

"Having my first solo show at the wonderful Monkey Cage Gallery in Ramsgate will be a real honour-it's an amazing space for Art, and in a really beautiful location!"

Born in Cornwall,  he originally studied at Falmouth School
of Art and Design, and was immensely inspired by the rugged Cornish
coastline. Working as a commercial artist alongside his artist father
(Tom Robbins) paid for his years at art school. During this time he
undertook many painting commissions, and sold work from various sites
in Cornwall, both locally, and to international buyers. He then moved
to Canterbury and completed a Fine Art Degree in painting at the
Kent Institute of Art & Design (now the
University for the Creative Arts), before jointly running a
successful wholefoods business in the city for 15 years.

A move to Thanet was the inspiration to return to the
easel-Ramsgate's Royal Marina, the coastal walk from Pegwell to
Margate, and the fascinating architecture of the area, not to mention
Ramsgate's flourishing art and music scene, are all subjects he
intends to explore further through painting and photography.
