BRITAIN'S No.1 COMING TO BROADSTAIRS

8,000 Inspirational people will carry the Olympic Flame on its journey across the UK.

On the 19th July the Olympic Flame continues its journey around the UK by passing through Thanet.

It will pass through Broadstairs and St Peters and continuing with the theme of the flame being carried by Olympic hopefuls it will be carried by Elena Baltacha, Britain's No1 Ladies Tennis Player.

Elena says it is such an amazing honour that it is hard to put into words.

Broadstairs town councillor Gordon Edwards said "It will be a great day for all concerned so lets make sure Broadstairs and St Peters plays its part by giving the torch and its bearers a great welcome".

  2. How typical of Labour's mouthpiece. He kindly tells us when the torch will be carried through little old Tory Broadstairs and then gets a quote from one the the town's only two Labour councillors. Don't you know any of the Conservatives then, Michael?
