Christmas Waste and Recycling Collections
The only change will be to waste or recycling due for collection on Monday 26 December (Boxing Day). Residents with collection due on Boxing Day are requested to put their waste or recycling out early on Saturday 24 December (Christmas Eve).
Waste collections during the rest of the week will remain the same, including on bank holiday Monday 2 January 2012.
Garden waste and bulk waste collections will stop on Friday 23 December and restart on Monday 16 January 2012. Clinical collections will stop from Monday 26 December and restart on Monday 2 January.
Cllr Alan Poole, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, said: We thank our crews for agreeing to work over Christmas and New Year, which will ensure that waste and recycling collections can continue as usual during this period.
If you are due to have either your black sacks, black bin or your blue recycling wheeled bin for paper, card, tins, cans and plastic collected over the Christmas period, then please put out as normal. Please remember that if your collection is due on Monday 26 December (Boxing Day), it will be picked up two days earlier on Saturday 24 December (Christmas Eve).
If there is any snow over Christmas and New Year, then collections may be disrupted. For the latest updates and information visit www.thanet.gov.uk or follow us on twitter @thanetcouncil
If you have any questions about the arrangements over Christmas and New Year, please contact the council on 01843 5771
