Thor has lost his hammer.
Rama has lost his Sita.
And the rest of the world seems to have lost the plot...
Thankfully, these 3 Storytelling Divas keep their fingers firmly on the pulse of the plot as they blend performance storytelling and stand up to weave Indian literary legends with contemporary urban lore to present an alchemy of stories that crackle with undeniable wit.

Storyteller Vayu Naidu discovered Storytelling along the South Eastern Coast of India and in Chennai, her home city. She came to England in 1988 to study at the University of Leeds for her doctorate, which was on Indian Performance Oral traditions and their interpretations in contemporary western theatre. Her subsequent career has covered many fields including teaching, writing and performance. In 2001 she founded Vayu Naidu Company, to promote storytelling as theatre, with a signature style combining text, music and dance.
Productions include SouthFuture Perfect, a storytelling performance collaboration with director/composer Judith Weir, which toured nationally and did an All-India British Council tour with Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Nothing but the Salt and Mistaken.. Annie Besant in India which was co-produced with Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.
Vayu’s playwriting work includes: There Comes a Karma, and When both directed by Vanessa Whitburn, BBC Radio 4 Drama; Playboy of the Asian World, (1999); Nine Nights, directed by Chris Banfield; and Guess Who’s Coming to Christmas? -  BBC Radio 4 (2003).
Vayu’s books for children are published by Wayland Publishers, Collins UK and Tulika Books in Chennai, India.

Vayu is one of the country's most established and significant storytellers. Vayu has recently performed at the BarbicanSouthbank Centre and Canterbury Festival.

'Sir Gawain & the Green Knight'
told by Sarah Rundle

Friday 9th December
Tom Thumb Theatre, 7.30pm

When Men were Men,
Women were Women,
And an Axe was an Axe….

Gorgeous Gawain, the King's nephew, rides out in golden armour on his white horse.
His mission is suicidal, his journey long and cold; he is constantly ambushed … but the greatest danger comes from his own heart.
Love, war, and chivalry combine in this classic tale from King Arthur's Court.

Storyteller Sarah Rundle got locked in a laboratory but tunnelled her way to freedom.  She ran away to drama school, and is now a professional actor and storyteller.  Over the last seven years she has performed in theatres, cafes, museums, yurts, and a Saxon longhouse.
