New sports opportunities are being provided for young people in Millmead by Thanet District Council's Sport 4NRG team.
Street Games will be running on Friday evenings from 4pm to 6pm on the multi-use games area near Surestart Millmead. Young people aged between 11 and 17 will be able to take part in fun, organised activities, including football and basketball.
It's part of a Thanet Community Safety Partnership led initiative to improve life in Dane Valley. It's already achieved major successes, with overall crime levels in the area down by 6.5%, compared to the previous year.
Colin Rouse from Sport 4NRG said: "Feedback from Millmead residents was that they wanted more for young people to do on the estates in the evenings. We've listened to that and that's why Sport 4NRG has introduced these Street Games sessions on a Friday night."
