2009 elections

Election counts are underway for three sets of elections in Thanet, which will see members decided for Kent County Council, Ramsgate Parish Council and a by-election for Thanet District Council.

It follows polling yesterday (Thursday 4 June), with local people voting for Kent County Councillors and the European Parliament, the results of which will be announced on Sunday (7 June) evening.

Ramsgate residents were also voting for members of the new Parish Council, while those living in the Thanet Villages ward of Thanet District Council voted in a by-election to fill a vacancy, following the resignation of Cllr. Audrey Pickering.
