Statements from Cllrs Shirley Tomlinson and Bob Bayford

Cllr Tomlinson has made the following statement:

“I am deeply sorry for what was a very stupid mistake. I know how foolish it was and how dangerous it could have been; it has never happened before and it will never happen again.”

Cllr Bob Bayford made the following statement:

“Cllr Tomlinson has been punished by the courts and apologised for her mistake and she has been admitted back into the Conservative Group, having stepped down pending her court appearance. Cllr Tomlinson will not be returning to the Shadow Cabinet but, as an experienced and hardworking councillor, she will continue to serve the residents of Garlinge and Thanet well.”

  1. Early signs in Garlinge are that they have accepted her apology, and she is working hard to make ammends as tdc cllr.

The complete opposite can be said for Cllr Ken Gregory

    1. Conservative Councillor Gregory only wished death on someone, But Tomlinson risked possible death on many. It is unfair to suspend one without the other. I am sure that Mr Gregory is very angry.

One has to laugh at the bit that says it was her first time lol she is very well known

information's already making it's way around Garlinge, seen it this morning. She's been out and around with residents, doing cleanup inspections and trying to sort out the Junior School childrens crossing.

No one's seen or heard from Gregory since the police caution.

    5. School children's crossing? she could of killed the school children!!!

She voted for Gregory to return to the Conservatives despite that fact he has shown no remorse
      and has not apologised.

If letting Gregory back without showing any remorse was not an example collective homophobia, then maybe they were JUST all drunk when making this major PR blunder?

They seem to think that drink driving and being caught red handed being homophobic is just like parking on a yellow line!

  5. The council confirm that Shirley Tomlinson is still being PAID as a shadow cabinet member, despite pretending to stand down from that position a few days ago - WILL SHE PAY THAT MONEY BACK?

    1. I am sure that John is not the only person unhappy about this.

However, your obsession with him does not change the fact that Thanet Conservative Councillors are the only councillors being charged by the police for this that and the other.

John did the right thing leaving these people!

  6. I wonder why Thanet Watch wasn't sent that press release. How privileged you are Michael!
