Thanet District Council is set to join the Thanet Armed Forces Community Covenant following a Cabinet decision last night (Thursday 8 November).
Based on a national model first introduced in June 2011, the purpose of the localised covenant is to encourage support for the Armed Forces community who work and reside in Thanet, recognising the sacrifices that are made by military personnel.
It is also in place to help those working in the armed forces to integrate into civilian life and encourages them to participate in community based projects.
Thanet District Council is set to sign the agreement in early December. More information will follow this event.
