New John Worrow, leader of Thanet Independent Group video.

  1. Why did this clip remind me of the description of a Martian in the War of the Worlds record. As I recall, a head, larger than a bears, appeared above the parapet, skin seemingly stretch but rubbery in which a lipless orifice passed for a mouth...

As for an independent Thanet, not controlled from Maidstone, the mind boggles at the ghastly prospect with the present lot in charge. Time to go, always assuming we can sell our houses to any other unfortunates who may choose to move here. Possibly another Brighton, say no more, nudge nudge, wink wink!

  2. I agree with his comment regarding CRB checks.

  3. Looks suspiciously like the bony hand of the Red Hall anarchists attempting a little political puppetry behind the camera!

Amid the statesman-like relaunch let's not forget www.tigabout.blogspot.com shall we?

    1. Any thoughts on making CRB checks compulsory Simon? Or are you too busy making sniping comments to think about something this serious?

    2. Dangerous ground, Peter, for in these days when youngsters drinking in a bar can be rounded up, because of a fight in which they were not involved, taken to a police station and asked to accept a caution or face going to court, many people have theoretical criminal records. Should someone be banned from serving the community forever because of some indiscretion when young.

The alternative is to then have levels of criminal record, but who decides what is serious or not. After all, speeding is a criminal offence and if every MP and councillor with a speeding conviction was expelled we might find our parliament and council chambers much depleted.

At the moment it suits JW to call for CRB checks because Cllr Gregory would be shown has having accepted a police caution. Will he be so keen if one of the TIGs get his collar felt for some offence and it is always possible as one in particular walks a thin line on drink related whilst another has admitted to drug use.

    3. Good try Moores but it was made by John Mendelssohn not the lovely people in Broadstairs!

    4. John, how come Simon uses his own name but you hide behind an anonymous label.

    5. John maybe but not the John you think wise guy lol

    6. How do you know which John I think. After all, it could have been John next door, King John or the public john down the sea front. Still, as Freddie said to his mate, it's all a bit of a bummer really!

    7. Not me this time! Other people make films too. Bony hand? What's that all about? Of all my bones, my hands are some of the few that are still working....

    8. Pleased to hear that, Christine, for there must be only so much any camera can take of sweaty faced equality campaigners!

  4. Little rough on the Martians to suggest they look like JW. He is not exactly in line to replace Daniel Craig as the next Bond, is he?

    1. Interesting thought, might lead to Bond boys giving good looking young chaps a chance instead of just totty.

  5. CRB checks have been discussed at Council meetings and elsewhere on the blogs over time ad nauseam.

For example, I'm CRB checked for working with children but each CRB check is specific to a task and as far as I'm aware, there's no such thing as a blanket CRB check. What I think Peter is looking for is something that declares that reveals 'any' previous criminal record or caution to the public. I actually think that's a good idea in public life but we need a mechanism that makes it possible.

As for sniping.. I'm reminding the public that what you see now is an attempt to conceal something rather more bizarre called the TIG website

    1. I never used to support TIG but now I've seen their website I can at least say I agree with them on most things.. looking TIGs website, at least they have a sense of humour, and highlight modern issues!

    2. By modern one assumes you mean gay issues. As for sense of humour, do you mean referring to a local lady who works hard for the community as a pig. If so, thankfully, I do not share yours.

    3. Dear So-called Tom Clarke

I guess the vanity of a person that CHOOSES to identify with something that has nothing to do with them is more important to you than a criminal act. There is only ONE crime that has been committed and that was by your friend Ken Gregory - I know the truth hurts but its a fact you can't change!

      Delete
    4. Why me or is it simply that mine is a name you recognise. Did I mention crime or Gregory, who I do not know from Adam, yet in you come with the usual old horseshit you dig out every time. Pointless trying to debate because whatever I say you will either ignore or twist as you see fit.

Why do you not not attack one of those who described your beloved Worrow as a Martian lookalike or made Bond remarks. Is it because, like you, they are anonymous and you cannot attack them by name. Whatever go find someone else to play with, providing, of course, they are consenting.

    5. Always look out for the capital letters - it's Worrow's signature!

    6. Yeah only he uses capital letters nonbody else has caps on their key pad. I see the ducking stool mob are back lol small minded nutters

    7. They can only talk about Martions and self serving people that like to identify with monsters. This because they can't attack his views due to the fact the people share the same views!

    8. 15:27 Can you please explain your comment for the benefit of those of us that did not have such an all compassing education as you. Incidentally, what are Martions?

There are also a lot of people who don't share his views.

  7. Did anything happen on the Southern Water sewage enquiry or Thor mercury?

    1. If you are talking about the Southern Water sewage leak from the summer the Inquiry held its Public session recently. Knock it all you like, it looks like it will have a final report in time for the end of the Council year.

      Delete
    2. I wasn't knocking anything - thanks, the report is due out December? There were 4 discharges not the one claimed by Southern Water?

The beach water quality signs all say the water quality was good.

Anything on Thor mercury or the Manston aquifer/discharge/runoff?

      Delete
    3. Why don't you ever find out for yourself, 12:25, instead of being such a bore with your fool questions. You have been told before, ring the council or ask one of your ward councillors.

      Delete
    4. I'm asking bloggers 17:27 as TDC simply ignore questions on the Manston aquifer and Thor mercury.

The beach signs are either removed or all show excellent water quality - yet Southern Wate rnow confirm several discharges, and Manston run-off tips into Pegwell Bay despite Environemnt Agency concerns.

What do you think of an airport on the aquifer and a banned mercury factory?

Wouldn't you like to know the contamination and clean-up?

Doesn't seem boring or foolish to me. Denying it or covering it up however does - or criminal.

      Delete
    5. Demand information of your ward councillor for he/she is obligated to respond to such a request, 16:31. The only reason you do not find your oft repeated questions boring is because you, sir, are a crushing bore.

      Delete
    6. The aquifer under Manston airport and Thor mercury remaining open and Southern Water failings (on the front page of the Gazette again) seem very interesting 18:28. Why so dismissive - presumably you're drinking and breathing the stuff too?

While the missing fines increase your council tax.

      Delete
    7. You are still a crushing bore, 15:59, and I only drink liquid from bottles marked Castle or Beck's Bier and breath from a dive bottle. Hope you enjoy the new KLM flights.

      Delete
    8. You sound dull 14:45 - simply ignoring the questions over Manston aquifer and removed monitors and fines, and Thor and Southern Water, makes you less than interesting.

Your other comments are childish, and KLM flights next Summer will no doubt be a stopover and go bust like Flybe. Which is why Manston is up for sale but you seem too wilfullly stupid to have anything sensible to say.

If you do speak up. An airport on the aquifer? Roger Gale's in favour of it so there must be something viable? Jobs for idiots and construction contracts and ignore the pollution? Yes?

      Delete
  8. The No Night Flghts blog has the latest Manston/KIACC report of about 1,000 passengers a month and 3,000 tons of freight. That's about 3 or 4 full planes a month in total? Probably over-stated too.

Manston was actually quietest during the Olympics.

And nothing on the noise and air pollution again - why are KIACC playing pat-a-cake with Buchanan? The monitors were removed in 2006 - get the Police in on the pollution and crash danger.

    1. Since when was the removal of monitors and a risk of aircraft crashes a criminal matter, 16:00. Fortunately in this country police can still only act when a crime is committed. Everytime you write you manage to portrait yourself as an utterly clueless idiot.
