Visitors to Broadstairs can get improved information about what to see
and do in the town this summer, thanks to a partnership between a number
of local organisations.
A new Visitor Information Kiosk is opening for business at the end of
May along the seafront promenade. Located in the former ice cream kiosk
on the edge of the Royal Albion Hotel’s garden, it will be staffed by
a keen group of local volunteers over the summer, who will be able to
help tourists with any questions they have about the area.
The money for the project has been raised by the Broadstairs Tourism
and Leisure Association and the Broadstairs and St. Peter’s Chamber of
Commerce with Broadstairs and St. Peter’s Town Council matching the
funds they raised.
Thanet District Council’s visitor information team have provided the
literature and equipment for the kiosk. This includes a touch screen
facility, which will be available 24 hours a day for people to find out
more about what to see and do in Thanet. This is in addition to the
touch screen in the Dickens House Museum.
The new information kiosk is in addition to the one already in
operation at Lillyputt Minigolf on Victoria Parade.
