Statement from TDC Conservative Group re Cllr Wiltshire

Cllr Bob Bayford, Leader of the Conservative Group at TDC, has made the following statement in response to Cllr Zita Wiltshire’s decision to sit as an Independent councillor:

“Cllr Wiltshire has been a valued member of the Conservative Group for many years, working hard for the people of St Peter’s, Broadstairs and Thanet.  We wish her well for the future.”

  1. I doubt that Cllr Wiltshire shares the sentiment coming from Bayford. As a long standing Tory, I also doubt she would have resigned if all was well.
    Well done again Bob.

  2. Perhaps she should tell the good people in the ward where she was elected first. She is, after all, their representative, not yours or mine, Peter.

    1. That's what I mean of course, but unless she writes to or visits every one of them individually she'll have to make a public statement.

    2. Never heard of a ward newsletter? We get them periodically over here in Bradstowe and I kno they are done in several other wards of various political hues.

    3. Suggest you take a look at Clive Hart's twitter then for he often comments about delivering newsletters in Cliftonville and Dane Valley. Some councillors also hold surgeries, but, whatever, their first responsibilty is to the people in their ward and I am sure Cllr Wilshire is aware of that. She has probably already advised her local ward committee.

    4. No idea as I don't live in his patch. Do you? Mind you, I have read that Jodie Hibbert does in Westgate though no one seems to know when.
