KNOW YOUR GATEWAY 2011

Do you know what Thanet’s Gateway Plus can do for you? That’s the challenge being set for local people, who can find out more at a special event in October.

Know Your Gateway 2011 is taking place on Thursday 6 October between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm during National Customer Services Week, and aims to highlight all the services on offer to residents.

In total, there will be 10 different groups, providing information about their services, and details of when they are available in the Gateway. They include homelessness charity Porchlight, Catch-22, who work with young people, Employ Thanet and Welfare Advice.

Matthew Munson, Front of House Coordinator for Thanet Gateway, says: “We want to let our community know who works with Gateway and how they could help them. We’re committed to customer services, so what better time to hold the event than during National Customer Services Week? The Gateway has already been open for nearly four years and, during that time, we’ve worked closely with local businesses, charities and voluntary organisations to ensure that the services we offer are what local people need. We’ve been incredibly successful in doing that and want to highlight everything that the Gateway can provide for them.”

Thanet’s Gateway Plus is located in Cecil Street, next to the council offices. It’s open on weekdays from 9:00 am to 6:00pm, with late opening until 8:00 pm on Thursday nights. It’s also open on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
