Not only have two brand new independent businesses opened in
Ramsgate in the last fortnight, but there’s also a Ramsgate Town Team just
begun and an initiative in the town to decorate shop windows for Christmas,
with a cash prize
for the winner.
Shops around the town are invited to help make a fantastic show
for Christmas by making their windows look brilliant. The winner will be chosen
on Monday 23 December by Town Promoter Suzy Humphries, and a prize of £100 will
be awarded by Ramsgate Town Council.
A committee of a dozen local businesses has come together to
form Ramsgate’s Town Team, with the aim to work with all local people,
community groups and businesses to improve the town centre and surrounding
area. There will be a launch event in January and anyone interested in joining

New businesses this fortnight are Saltworks in Charlotte Court,
a beautiful shop selling women’s clothing, accessories and gifts as well as the
Harbour Chocolate Lounge on Military Road. Housed in one of the historic ‘red
arches’, Clare Cook has a chocolate factory and cafe which
can only be naughty but nice!
