Broadstairs’ popular all-day dining venue Peen’s Gastro Bar has announced two- and three-course Christmas menus at £20 and £25 respectively, which will be served from 16th November to 24th December.
There is a choice of three starters: a celeriac & wild mushroom soup; Duck liver & Armagnac terrine with Peen’s home-made chutney & toast; or Ashmore cheese, hazelnut, roasted beetroot & chicory salad.
For mains there is Roast Kent turkey, chestnut stuffing, Brussels sprouts with pancetta, braised red cabbage & roast potatoes;Roasted fillet of Scottish smoked haddock with sauté potatoes & Savoy cabbage, poached free-range egg, mustard vinaigrette;Roast pumpkin, gorgonzola & sage filo tart, Brussels sprouts,braised red cabbage & roast potatoes; or Confit duck, creamy mash potato, braised red cabbage & port & duck jus.
Puddings are: Traditional Christmas pudding, brandy cream;Hot chocolate pudding mascarpone; and Kentish cheese selection, oatcakes and Peen’s chutney.
Early bird parties booking before Tuesday 16th November to Sunday 28th November will also be offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Groups of between 4 and 35 people can be catered for and drinks parties may reserve a space at the bar.
“Despite the some companies having cancelled their office parties in recent years because of the economic down turn, people still want make merry with work colleagues and we are taking more bookings for employees who are organising their own festive celebrations”, said owner Matt Peen.
Entry to Pen’s famous New Year’s Eve party, which continues until 4am is an all-ticket-affair at £25, which includes canapés, buffet and live music with ‘Georgie, a popular jazz-soul singer who enjoys a local following, and her band.
