Shop local – that’s the message on front of the summer edition of the council’s magazine, “Thanet Matters”, as it encourages people to explore what’s on offer on their local high street.
The “shop local first” feature looks at what you can find in Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate, along with Birchington and Northdown Road in Cliftonville, and also reminds people that there are smaller areas of Thanet with unique local shops. The aim is to encourage people to head first for their local high street, supporting local busineses.
This issue of “Thanet Matters” is being distributed through the KM Thanet Extra during the week beginning Monday 29 June.
Elsewhere in the 16 page issue are details of the Sport Matters and Thanet Coast Project events being put on for young people this summer and the summer events taking place around the District, with a focus on the new Dippers and Dunkers Festival.
There’s also an update on the latest measures to tackle crime in Thanet from the Thanet Community Safety Partnership and news from the Thanet Works team on the projects they will be supporting.
As well as being distributed through the KM Thanet Extra, “Thanet Matters” can be collected from Thanet’s Gateway Plus, local libraries and Visitor Information Centres.
